At The Shoe Care Shop we care about your shoes. With a small team of shoe enthusiasts we dedicate ourselves to shoe care and shoe shining. We have shined well over 2000 pairs of shoes at our workshop in Amsterdam, making sure our customers shoes look as good as they can. Bring your shoes back to life with our professional shine services. From classic leather to suede and sneakers, each treatment is tailored with premium products and expert care. Please contact us first to make an appointment and feel free to send pictures of your shoes so we can confirm the right service and ensure results that meet your expectations.
Expert service
Our Shoeshine Service Expert restores your shoes with Saphir Médaille d'Or products, all done by hand. The 70-minute treatment (excluding drying) continues until the perfect shine is achieved, including full cleaning of old layers and deep nourishment of the leather.
Expert+ service
Our Shoeshine Service Expert+ delivers a deep restoration with Saphir Médaille d'Or products, fully done by hand. In about 90 minutes (excluding drying), we clean, nourish, and add colour corrections with leather dye for richer tones and a longer-lasting finish.
Suede and nubuck service
Revive your suede shoes with our professional suede service. Using Saphir Médaille d'Or products, every step is done by hand with close attention to detail. The treatment takes about 60 minutes (excluding drying).
Sneaker service
Get your sneakers cleaned and restored by professionals using Jason Markk and Tarrago products. Every step is done by hand with attention to detail, taking about 60 minutes (excluding drying).
New shoes service
Our New Shoes – Ready to Wear service gives your fresh pair the perfect shine and finish. With Saphir Médaille d'Or products and careful handwork, we prepare your shoes in about 30 minutes, with the option to subtly darken the colour if desired.
What can you expect?
Here’s what you can expect from our professional shoe shine service. Unlike a quick 10-minute shine, each treatment is a complete care program. We begin by removing all old layers of polish to create a clean base. The leather is then deeply nourished before we build up a new shine to the level of gloss you prefer, from a soft glow to a mirror finish.
All treatments are carried out entirely by hand, never with machines, to guarantee the highest level of detail and care. We work exclusively with the finest products from Saphir Médaille d'Or, Jason Markk, and Tarrago. On average, a shoe shine takes between 1.5 and 2 hours of dedicated handwork. Prices start at €45 and can reach €200+ depending on the level of treatment and your wishes.
How does it work?
Step 1 – Request a quote
If you are interested in our shoe shine service, please send us an email at info@theshoecareshop.com including:
- Your name and full address
- Your wishes for the shoes (for example: deep shine, colour correction, full restoration)
- Clear images of the shoes that highlight the areas of concern or damage
This information allows us to assess your request properly and provide a personal quote.
Step 2 – Our assessment
Within 5 working days you will receive a reply from us with a detailed price quote. At this stage we will also let you know if there are any imperfections or damages that cannot be fully restored or camouflaged, so expectations are clear before we begin.
Step 3 – Shipping your shoes / dropdrop offoff
Once you accept the quote, you can send your shoes to our workshop. Shipping to us is at your own risk, so we strongly recommend choosing a tracked and insured shipping method and packaging your shoes carefully to prevent damage in transit. You can also drop off your shoes at our office. If you do, please first make an appointment so we can ensure our expert is there to help you.
Step 4 – Treatment & return
After we receive your shoes, our specialists will carry out the treatment entirely by hand, using only the finest products from Saphir Médaille d'Or, Jason Markk, and Tarrago. When the work is finished, we ship your shoes back to you. Return shipping costs and insurance are included in the quoted price. Please note that while we will always insure the return shipment, we cannot take responsibility for what happens during shipping to or from our workshop.
